Ranthambore tiger safari — how it works
Gypsy or canter
✓Gypsy — an open 6-seat jeep. Quieter, closer to the action and best for families and couples.
✓Canter — an open truck of about 20 seats. Lower cost and easier to get at short notice.
✓Two shifts a day, around sunrise and in the afternoon, about 3 hours each; exact times change with the season.
Good to know
•Safari seats are sold through the Rajasthan Forest Department's official booking system and go quickly in season — tell us early and we will help you get them.
•Carry the same photo ID used for the booking; it is checked at the gate.
•The zone is allotted with the booking. Tigers roam across zones, and no sighting is ever guaranteed.
•Winter mornings in an open vehicle are cold — bring a warm layer.

Questions
Jaipur Ranthambore tour package — questions, answered
What is the price of the Jaipur Ranthambore tour package for 3 nights 4 days?
It depends on your hotel category, dates and how many are travelling. WhatsApp or call us on +91 73517 07071 and we will send one all-inclusive price. Safari tickets and 5% GST are extra.
How far is Ranthambore from Jaipur?
About 180 km, roughly 3.5 to 4 hours by road, to Sawai Madhopur, the town at the edge of the park.
Is 3 nights 4 days enough for Jaipur and Ranthambore?
Yes. Two nights in Jaipur cover the forts, palaces and bazaars, and one night at Ranthambore gives you two safaris — one in the afternoon and one at dawn.
Will we definitely see a tiger?
No one can promise that. Ranthambore has some of India's best tiger sightings, and two safaris improve your chances, but the tigers roam freely. March to June is usually the best time.
Gypsy or canter — which is better?
A gypsy is a 6-seat open jeep — quieter and more personal, best for couples and families. A canter seats about 20 and costs less. Both go into the same zones.
How do we book the Ranthambore safari?
Safari seats are sold through the Rajasthan Forest Department's official booking system and fill up fast in season. Tell us your dates early and we will help you secure them. Carry the same photo ID used for the booking.
When is Ranthambore National Park open?
The main safari season runs from October to June. The core zones close for the monsoon from July to September.
Is Ranthambore suitable for children and senior citizens?
Yes. Safaris are seated drives on forest tracks, with no walking. The ride can be bumpy, so a gypsy is more comfortable than a canter for seniors.
Are meals included?
Yes — breakfast and dinner daily at your hotels in Jaipur and Ranthambore. Lunch is on your own, so you can try local Rajasthani food along the way.
Where do you pick us up?
At Jaipur International Airport or Jaipur Junction railway station, and we drop you back there on day 4.
Can we add more of Rajasthan?
Yes. For just Jaipur, see our Jaipur tour package; for longer routes, the Jaipur Jodhpur Udaipur tour and all our Rajasthan tour packages.
Are prices the same at Christmas, New Year and festivals?
No. Quoted rates do not apply on Christmas, New Year, long weekends, Holi, Diwali and major festivals. Talk to us directly for those dates.
Is this tour good for couples and honeymooners?
Yes. Couples travel in their own private car with a double room every night, at their own pace. We can add a room upgrade, flower decoration or a candle-light dinner on request — and see our Rajasthan honeymoon package for a trip built around couples.
Do you have a family or group package for this tour?
Yes. The same private Jaipur Ranthambore tour runs for couples, families and groups. Families of 3 to 6 travel in an Ertiga or Innova Crysta with family or connecting rooms; groups of 7 or more travel in a Tempo Traveller or several cars, with all rooms in the same hotel. The price per person falls as your group grows — send us your headcount for a quote.
How do we book, and how much advance do you take?
A 30% advance of the total package cost confirms your trip, and the balance is due at least 7 days before departure. You deal with us directly — we book the hotels and the driver ourselves.
Can we postpone or cancel?
You can postpone free of charge with at least 30 days' notice, subject to hotel availability. The 30% advance is non-refundable; beyond that, cancellation charges are a percentage of the total package cost, deducted from what you have paid.
