Has it snowed in Manali yet this season?
Yes, up high. The first light snow of the season fell at Rohtang Pass on 6 October 2026 and around the Atal Tunnel on 7 October, while Manali town had rain. Solang Valley usually gets its first snow in December. We update this answer as the season goes on.
Is November a good time for a Shimla Manali trip?
Yes — November is one of the best-value months: clear mountain views, thin crowds and lower hotel rates. It is cold at night in Manali, so pack warm layers. Snow is limited to the high slopes, and Rohtang usually closes for the winter during the month.
Will we see snow on a Shimla Manali trip in December 2026?
Likely, but never guaranteed. The first snow usually reaches Solang Valley in December, and the Atal Tunnel side often has it too; Shimla and Kufri get it in some years, more often late in the month. If there is no snow on your dates, Solang still has the ropeway and great views.
When does it snow in Shimla and Manali?
Snow is most reliable from December to early March around Manali, at Solang and Sissu. Shimla and Kufri usually see it between late December and February. Snow is never guaranteed.
Is Rohtang Pass included?

Is the Atal Tunnel visit guaranteed?
The Atal Tunnel and Sissu are on the itinerary and need no Rohtang permit, but the visit is subject to weather and road conditions on the day — heavy snow can close the road in winter.
Is Rohtang Pass open on Tuesdays?
Usually not — Rohtang is normally closed to tourist vehicles on Tuesdays for road maintenance. We plan your Rohtang day, if you add it, on another day.
Can we add the Kalka–Shimla toy train?
Yes, on request. The Kalka–Shimla railway is a UNESCO World Heritage line; we can book the toy train for day one and meet you in Shimla with your car. Train tickets are extra.
Shimla Manali by car or by Volvo — which is better?
By private car you see Kufri and the Kullu valley on the way, stop when you like and start from your door — best for families and first visits. The overnight Volvo saves a day and costs less for couples, but you arrive tired and miss the drive. See our Manali Shimla Volvo package.
Is this package good for honeymooners?

Is paragliding or rafting open all year?
No. Paragliding and river rafting in Kullu are suspended during the monsoon, usually from mid-July to mid-September. Both are paid locally.
How do we book, and how much advance do you take?

Can we postpone or cancel?
