What is Pack The Bag Tours?

Pack The Bag Tours is a private tour operator based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, certified by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board. Since 2014 we have planned private trips across India for more than 13,000 travellers — couples, families and groups — with our own team booking the hotels, cars and drivers.

What does a private trip with Pack The Bag Tours include?

Your own car and driver for sightseeing, handpicked 3-star to 4-star hotels that we book directly and confirm in writing, a day-by-day plan paced for your group, and one all-inclusive price agreed before you pay. Honeymoon trips add a candlelight dinner, flowers and cake. On Volvo packages, the overnight Volvo takes you to and from Delhi and a private car is used in the hills.

Where is Pack The Bag Tours based?

Our head office is at Shop No. 2, Near Swastik Plaza, Banjarawala, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248001, and our branch office is in Tibetan Colony, Manali, Himachal Pradesh. In Kashmir, our own ground staff look after your trip.

Is Pack The Bag Tours a certified tour operator?

Yes. We are certified by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (Certificate No. UTTR/DEHRADUN/08-2019/003412) and GST registered (GSTIN 05BPZPB5206G1ZX). We have been planning trips since 2014, for more than 13,000 travellers.

Do you use third-party agents?

No. You deal with our team directly — we book the hotels, cars and drivers ourselves, from the first quote to the drive home.

Where should we travel in India this month?

October to March suits Rajasthan, the Golden Triangle, Kerala, Goa and the Andamans. December to February brings snow to Auli, Manali and Kashmir. March to June and mid-September to November suit the Himalayan hill stations; May–June and September–October are the Char Dham months; June to September is the season for Ladakh.

Where can we see snow in India, and when?

Usually from December to February: in Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Srinagar in Kashmir, in Manali, Solang Valley and often Shimla in Himachal, at Auli in Uttarakhand, and in North Sikkim. Solang and Gulmarg often hold snow into March. Snowfall dates shift a little every year, so we check the forecast for your dates before you travel.

Where should we travel in India during the monsoon (July and August)?

Kashmir and Ladakh, which stay mostly dry while the monsoon falls on the rest of India. Avoid the Uttarakhand and Himachal hills, the Char Dham and Darjeeling–Sikkim in July and August, when landslides can close mountain roads; Goa, Kerala and the Andamans are wet and the sea is rough.

Where is the weather clear in India in October and November?

Almost everywhere we travel: the Char Dham and Kedarnath (until the temples close in early November), the Uttarakhand and Himachal hills, Kashmir, Darjeeling and Sikkim with clear Kanchenjunga views, Rajasthan and the Golden Triangle. Kerala, Goa and the Andamans see some showers in October and are clear by late November.

Do you have packages for couples, families and groups?

Yes. Every trip is private and sized to your group: couples get a sedan and a double room, families of 3 to 6 an Ertiga or Innova Crysta with family rooms, and groups of 7 or more a Tempo Traveller with all rooms in one hotel. The more of you travel together, the lower the price per person.

How much does the Char Dham Yatra 2027 cost?

Our private Char Dham Yatra 2027 is ₹32,000 per person on four sharing, ₹35,500 on three sharing and ₹38,500 on double sharing, for 9 nights and 10 days from Dehradun with 3-star hotels, a night at Kedarnath, breakfast and dinner, and registration. GST is extra. Our group departure leaves Dehradun on 15 May 2027.

How close is your Kedarnath stay to the temple?

About 50 metres — a 2-minute walk. On our Kedarnath tour package, Kedarnath Badrinath yatra and Char Dham Yatra, you can walk to the evening aarti and join the darshan queue at dawn without a long walk in the cold.

How do we book, and how much advance do you take?

A 30% advance of the total package cost confirms your trip, and the balance is due at least 7 days before departure. The advance is non-refundable, but you can postpone free of charge with at least 30 days’ notice, subject to hotel availability.

Can you build a custom India itinerary instead of a fixed package?

Are package prices the same on festivals and long weekends?

No. Quoted rates do not apply on Christmas, New Year, long weekends, Holi, Diwali and other major festivals. Contact us directly for prices on those dates.

Do you have honeymoon packages?

Yes — in Kashmir, Manali, Shimla, Kullu & Manali, Rajasthan and Kerala, each with a honeymoon night of candlelight dinner, flower decoration and cake.

Which is the best Shimla Manali tour package?

Our Shimla Manali tour (5N/6D, from ₹11,650 per person) is the favourite for a first trip. For couples, the Shimla Kullu Manali honeymoon is our best-reviewed trip.

How many days do you need for the Golden Triangle tour?

Most travellers take 5 to 6 days to cover Delhi, Agra and Jaipur comfortably, including the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Amber Fort and Jaipur’s old city.

How many days are enough for Himachal?

3–4 days for one hill station, 6–7 days for Shimla and Manali together, and 10 days for Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala and Dalhousie.

What is the best time to visit Uttarakhand?

March to June and mid-September to November for the hill stations. The Char Dham temples open around May and close around early November, so May–June and September–October are the best yatra months. December to February is the time for snow and skiing in Auli. July and August are the monsoon, when landslides can close the high roads.

How much does a Kashmir tour package cost?

Do you run Leh Ladakh tours?

Yes — a Leh Ladakh road trip from Srinagar via Kargil, with Nubra, Turtuk and Pangong. The season runs from June to September.

Which trips suit senior citizens?

Easy-paced trips with short drives: the Yamunotri Gangotri yatra, the Kashmir family tour, Kerala with Kodaikanal and the Goa family tour.

Do you arrange group tours?

Yes — office, family, society and temple groups travel with us in a Tempo Traveller or a convoy, with all rooms in one hotel and one invoice. The bigger the group, the lower the price per person.
